Early Intervention
Early recognition of the subtle signs of problems.
Children under age 3 who have a known disability or have demonstrated developmental delays should be considered for therapy, which often can make a significant difference. By intervening at the first signs of speech, motor, cognition or feeding problems, our therapists can help maximize a child’s chances for future success.
This program is designed to detect signs of developmental delays — in adaptive skills, visual perception and processing, motor skills, language and communication skills and others — and provide the specific help each child needs. Our unique approach involves a team of professionals working closely with the family to address each child’s one-of-a-kind needs in his or her natural setting.
Between birth and age 3, early detection and treatment of delays or deficits are vital, as this is a critical time in a child’s development. More importantly, finding and addressing these delays can often prevent developmental problems that otherwise could be more significant.
At Therapy Works for KiDS, we provide comprehensive services for these children, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy in Suffolk and Smithfield, Virginia. Our goal is for each child to achieve his or her greatest potential.
