Danielle Rowland, DPT
Danielle Rowland, DPT completed her doctoral education in physical therapy at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Danielle pursued a career in Physical Therapy because it allowed her to combine her love of exercise and the study of biomechanics with her desire to help people. She has completed post graduate study in the McKenzie Method - Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, and has experience in aquatic rehabilitation. Dr.Rowland is also continuing study in the field of sports injuries and rehabilitation.
Dr. Rowland enjoys working with people and helping them get back to doing the things they love. “I decided to become a Physical Therapist because I enjoy the personal interaction with my patients and the opportunity to use my education and experience to help them decrease their pain and improve their quality of life.” Patients have reported that Dr. Rowland listens carefully to their concerns and explains all aspects of treatment. “In order to gain a patient’s trust and confidence, I listen closely to what they tell me, reassure them that their symptoms make sense, and then explain exactly how I can help them.” Danielle believes keeping her patients informed about their therapy encourages them to be more engaged in the process, which ultimately leads to better functional outcomes and happier patients.
In addition to her achievements as a Physical Therapist, Dr. Rowland is also an accomplished horseback rider. Danielle combined her passions when she developed “FIT to Ride,” a unique program developed specifically for riders. This performance enhancement program helps riders understand and appreciate the muscles they need to develop in order to compete successfully in this physically demanding sport, which requires balance, flexibility and strength.
Rowland believes the best thing about working at Physical Therapy Works is the staff. “I have had wonderful mentors and ongoing support for continuing education and new opportunities.” Danielle’s compassion and professionalism offer her patients the best possible chance for success in therapy!
